Darren Demont decided to skip his college class and drive to a pier he likes to visit. Something erupts from the water and it’s The A.X.E.L. Unit! A symbiote with immense magical power. Darren bonds to it and becomes the biomechanical hero, Heavy Steel! Darren has no tragic backstory or strong personal motivations. He chooses to be a superhero for fame, status and validation. He often does the right things for the wrong reasons and the wrong things for the right reasons. As Darren continues on his journey, he’ll either learn some humility and become a real hero or he’ll become corrupted from the vain side of superheroism.
